The History of Peacock Garage in Great Boughton, Chester

1975

Wilf Holroyd established a car repair business, renting a workshop to the side of the filling station which was originally situated at the current premises. The business flourished and his reputation for value and standards of excellence was founded.

1978

Dave Holroyd joined the business with his father. During the 1980s the business expanded considerably and they decided to purchase the property and further invest in equipment and the infrastructure. An MOT testing facility was developed as well as all other aspects of servicing and repair.

1990s

The garage became a Unipart Car Care Centre, part of a network of independent garages. Additionally, the company became an Approved member of the MVRA, which continually monitors and helps to improve our standards of customer care and service. A new reception was built to provide a comfortable, clean waiting area for our customers to enjoy.

2009… onwards

We’ve developed further, achieving B.S.I. PAS 80 Kitemark Approved status and is currently, the only independent garage in Chester to have attained this status.
